Voices Collection By Black Males in Education St. Louis
July 25, 2020
This is a book with a collection of powerful black male educators (now authors') stories. It sheds light on our lived experiences and models some important things to consider for all aspiring educators and all people for that matter. In 2020-- we were all in such a new place in this world. The founders of BMESTL Dr. Darryl Diggs and Dr. Howard Fields gave us a platform and a mic -- and we spoke -- we spoke loudly, clearly, and with intentionality to change the landscape of education from surface level freedoms to liberation that requires daily hard-work linked to specific real equity daily actions -- Voices.

Voice Vol 2 takes an even deeper look in the fight for education by adding youth voices -- their stories -- and taking a step back to view education through the lens of scholars. This anthology of Black Male Educator's stories and youth stories combined gives the perspective of it being impossible to advocate for others without giving others the means to advocate for themselves. Their Voices -- no matter what others think are valued and needed for education to continue to achieve within equity in our Educational System.
