I am very much excited for the next few months. I will be highlighting a fellow educator and their instructional practices that inspire students to be their best selves in their learning spaces on my media handles. A couple of years ago, caregivers experienced aspects of what it takes to be an educator. And myself being a teacher and father of a four year old daughter during the pandemic was eye opening. I literally had no idea on how to approach instruction with my 4 year old at that time. But multiple books later and talking with primary educators, I have learned so much.
One of my hopes is for this work to bridge the gap of what happens at school versus what happens at home. Learning never has to stop -- Learning is not confined to a specific place -- and the truth is -- learning does not stop -- because we always are learning rather we realize it or not.
Another one of my hopes is that we give as much love to our beautiful teachers as we can. Many of the approaches that you will see on my feed will be years and years of perfecting methods of teaching from our awesome teachers.
A final hope is that we can transform our schools incrementally to these exemplars or that it sparks something within every person to fight for our children's deep meaningful transfer learning. Our children are in need of daily transformative and real experiences. Get rid of desks, Get rid of traditional Gradual Release, Get rid of the Knowledge not originating from our children minds and hearts!
